Christopher Maselli, Esq.

Christopher Maselli is a partner at Gianfrancesco, Friedemann & Maselli, where he focuses on civil, criminal and personal injury litigation. He is recognized for strategic advocacy and extensive experience in both trial and appellate courts.

A Providence native, Mr. Maselli earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Providence College and a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law. He was admitted to the Rhode Island bar in 1999 and the federal bar in 2000. After early work as an associate in private practice, he launched his own firm in 2003, demonstrating entrepreneurial drive and a strong commitment to client service.

In 2006, Mr. Maselli was elected State Senator from Johnston, Rhode Island, serving as Deputy Majority Leader, Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, Secretary of the Judiciary Committee, and a member of the Senate Education Committee. He also co-chaired the Joint Commission to Study the Underground Economy and Employee Misclassification, championing initiatives in public education, environmental protection, and constituent advocacy.

Mr. Maselli represents a wide range of clients—from Fortune 500 companies and public employee unions to individuals in complex criminal and civil matters. He has secured millions of dollars in compensation for injured clients, obtained a full acquittal in a high-profile first-degree murder trial, and successfully recovered $1 million in assets for an elderly Italian client with dementia, enabling her to return to Italy to live with family.

An engaged community leader, Mr. Maselli serves on the Board of Directors of the Justinian Law Society of Rhode Island and is an active member of the Knightsville Business Association in Cranston. He has also served on the Town of Johnston Zoning Board and other civic organizations.

A sought-after speaker, Mr. Maselli was the Keynote Speaker at the John J. Hardiman Memorial Continuing Legal Education Series: Summit on Fines, Fees & Mandatory Assessments in Criminal Cases (2020) and has guest lectured at Bryant University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and the New England Institute of Technology.

Mr. Maselli is also the author of The New Debtors Prison: Why All Americans Are in Danger of Losing Their Freedom, reflecting his deep interest in justice and individual rights.
